Abstract
In this paper, we propose the modulation and demodulation algorithm design for the DVB-S2 (Digital Video Broadcasting System) considering the system specification, channel condition and transmission scenario compliant with DVB-S2 standard. DVB-S2 system characterized by the various different transmission modes following VCM (Variable Coding and Modulation), ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) technique, flexible input stream adapter and wide range of code rate. Therefore DVB-S2 system has a little complexity but we studied the modem synchronization algorithms in detail and presents performance analysis. The proposed schemes are shown to provide a good trade-off relation between complexity and performance. It is expected that DVB-S2 system will be implemented by employing the advanced demodulator successfully.
