Abstract
The interference from HAPS user terminals to space station receiver is calculated assuming the earth station of satellite is located at the nadir of HAPS service coverage. Antenna beams of multiple HAPS user terminals and earth station of satellite point to the HAPS platform and space station receiver respectively to consider the worst condition. The results show two systems can't be together in co-coverage. For the systems to be shared in same service area, the separation distance between HAPS nadir and earth station of satellite network is required to meet the given interference criterion. The analysis shows the required separation distance is increased as the latitude of HAPS and satellite earth station located is increased. Finally, the specific example for HAPS at latitude 38 degrees is presented.
