Abstract
This article presents the implementation techniques of a 6-pole dual-passband waveguide filter with asymmetric canonical structure for Ka band satellite applications.Asymmetric canonical structure is chosen not only to increase the transmission zeros of dual-passband filters but also to get high isolation between input and output coupling elements. Very effective nonlinear equations to obtain the coefficient of a transfer function from coupling matrix are extracted for synthesizing a filter network. A appropriate equivalent circuit model for asymmetric canonical structure is proposed to design a filter. For validation of the proposed implementation approaches, a 6-pole dualmode dual-passband filter for Ka band satellite applications is realized. Very good agreement between the measured and computed responses is obtained.
