Abstract
In this paper we propose a marker detection scheme which is resistant to the change of illumination. In AR (Augmented Reality) application, the wide variety of illumination condition is the main obstacle of registration. With the knowledge of marker information, especially luminance values, we can estimate the amount of applied light. When the measured pixel value in the marker position is greater than the given marker’s luminance value, for example a pixel which has 0 luminance value is measured as 30, we conclude that the light is on and reduce the light effect using some image processing technique.
