Abstract
The problem of the harmonization is being caused due to the adoption of different data broadcasting standards (satellite-MHP, terrestrial-ACAP, and cableOCAP) in Korea. Therefore, we are focusing on the GEM (Globally Executable MHP) being considered as fundamental solution related with the problem. GEM provides a common framework for the interoperability guarantee of the application for locally different data broadcasting standards. Particularly, we try to have the key point in the application lifecycle part of GEM relating to the operation of an application in consideration of the interoperability of the data broadcasting application. Consequently, we suggested a framework and signalling process of application lifecycle to commonly manage the whole lifecycle of application that has four main states - Loaded, Paused, Started, and Destroyed. In the current situation where it considers harmonization between each broadcasting platform, the application management method proposed in this paper is expected to be commonly applied to comprising the module relating to the application management in the platform. Besides, it is expected to be proposed as the effective approach for the application management in considering interoperability of application between each broadcasting platform.
