Abstract
This paper describes the concept and structure of a ubiquitous robotic space (URS) where a robot or human can have information assistance from the space and a specific robotic task can be carried out efficiently. The proposed URS comprises three spaces: physical, semantic, and virtual space. We describe constituting elements of URS and their relationship, which include a robot localization network, environment sensing network, and URS management server. As an example of application, an office-care service build on URS is described.
