- Abstract
- Movie contents makers generally require high quality texture maps built of images to render a realistic face skin. However, it is difficult to capture the images of same facial expression from various directions because the expression can be changed easily. A new data capture apparatus using polarization properties of light is made to capture mapping images for human face. It captures images without specular reflection in a moment, and the images are used to make texture maps, bump maps and special characteristic maps. The maps are used to render a realistic human. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.
