Abstract
Location" is one of the most outstanding contexts, which distinguishes ubiquitous services from conventional non-ubiquitous services. With the location of service requesters, service providers can contextualize the service for each requester, which elevates the quality and usage of the provided services. Unfortunately, service developers cannot easily utilize location data because there's no universal infrastructure for acquiring, publishing, and consuming location data. We present a framework called FOLIA (Feed Oriented Location Information Architecture), in which location-based contents are authored and published as blog posts and disseminated via RSS feed syndication model. In FOLIA, each location-specific post is annotated by a set of RDF-based tags called semantic geo-codes, which provides semantically richer search services. Also, our approach is cost-effective as it reuses the already-established content circulation model.
