- We develop an analytic formalism that explains the interference of photore¡Æectance in dielectric single heterojunctions (DSHs) in the spectral region of the bandgap energy where the refractive indices of the epilayer and the substrate are modulated by the modulation pump beam. As an application, a photore¡Æectance interference feature of a GaAs epilayer grown on an n-type GaAs substrate is analyzed to determine the epilayer thickness.
