Abstract
Digital image reproduction is prevalent in most image application field such as TV, Mobile, Internet, Photograph, Digital Printing, etc.. High quality image reproduction therefore, is required for the production companies. Image quality is highly subjective concept and it is difficult to quantify. However, it can be quantified by using statistical and psychophysical approaches based on the experimental data analysis. Moreover, image quality model can be developed by previously mentioned experimental data and its analysis. In this paper, the term ‘image quality’ will be studied and the results of psychophysical experiments for still images are introduced in order to develop an image quality model. Contrast and texture of the image are resulted as are the key attributes in image quality model.
