Abstract
In this paper, a design concept and some examples of antennas for battery-assisted RFID tag with a thin and flexible film battery is presented. For the antenna design of a passive RFID tag, complex chip impedance has only been considered and dipole or meander type antennas have widely investigated by many researchers and commercial companies. However, the presence of a thin and flexible film battery needs to be considered for the design of an antenna of a battery-assisted RFID tag because a highly conductive carbon based ink used as current collectors for the film battery which are placed above zinc anode and manganese dioxide- based cathode layers.
