Abstract
Generally, the wireless sensor network is used in order to perform the critical mission in a battlefield or emergency. In a battlefield, it mainly senses and tracks enemy tanks and soldiers. In this paper, we propose the target tracking algorithm minimizing the consumption of the energy in the wireless sensor network in which a target and inquirer have mobility. The virtual grid is built from the sensor which has GPS built in when the wireless sensor network is set up. The virtual grid becomes the basis for calculating its own location which is relatively in all sensors. The sensor sensing the target regionally can calculate the one's traces of the target on the virtual grid. The proposed algorithm minimizes the signaling which is required in order to know the one's traces. Moreover, it has the effect that the energy can be diminished gradually because of not using the flooding for the target sensing and data transmission.
