Abstract
COPS, which is being developed for communicating for three areas, is the payload of Communication, Ocean & Meteorological Satellite (COMS). The Ka band COPS consisted of a transponder and two antenna subsystem. And Each subsystem was also appropriately composed of its relevant equipment. The design of the COPS is completed and the reliability assessment has been performed from component level to payload level in order to technically verify its required performances without any failures in a simulated launching and space environments. The reliability of the developed target system was analyzed in worst case and the analysis results turned out that allocated values of the system well complied with the required values. In this paper, a calculation methods and approaches for the Ka band COPS is described, and the assessment result of Ka band COPS is also presented.
