Abstract
Field emission lamp (FEL) for a dynamic back light unit in LCD was developed by using the printed carbon nanotube emitters with the tapered macro-gate. Local dimming was achieved by a novel current driving method. The fabricated FEL showed a very high luminance over 12,000 cd/m 2 with an anode voltage of 15 kV. We, also, expect relatively good efficiency and reliability needed for commercialization.
