Abstract
White light was generated by alternate current powder electroluminescent (ACPEL) device using ZnS:Cu,Cl and TAG:Ce phosphors. TAG:Ce absorbing blue EL emission of ZnS:Cu,Cl layer was screen-printed on top of ITO glass to emit yellow photoluminescence (PL). White ACPEL device showed better luminance than blue ACPEL device did. Luminance increased with the thickness of TAG:Ce layer. The emission peaks of blue and yellow light were blue-shifted. The blueshift of ZnS:Cu,Cl can be attributed to the decrease of 450 nm blue light by the absorption of TAG:Ce, while the blue-shift of TAG:Ce is due to the addition of ZnS:Cu,Cl emission to TAG:Ce emission in tail region of ZnS:Cu,Cl emission.
