Abstract
동영상 내용기반 정보검색은 데이터베이스에 저장된 대량의 동영상 및 이미지 데이터를 비롯한 모든 멀티미디어 객체의 내용을 기반으로 사용자가 원하는 객체를 찾는 검색이다. 이를 위해 객체로부터 추출된 특징 벡터(feature vector)를 저장하고, 사용자가 원하는 질의의 특징 벡터와 가장 유사한 특징 벡터들을 찾는 방법이다. 즉 고차원 데이터로 구성되는 N 차원 특징 벡터 공간에서 객체의 특징 벡터간의 유사성에 기반한 검색을 실행하기 위해 고차원 특징 벡터에 대한 효율적인 고차원 인덱스 구조가 필요하다. 또한 최근의 고차원 벡터 데이터의 인덱스는 효율적 검색을 위해 SAN 구조와 같은 클러스터 파일시스템 구조에 대한 확장성(scalability)을 갖추어야 한다. 본 논문은 클러스터 파일 시스템 기반의 확장성 고차원 인덱스 구조를 제안하고 제안된 고차원 인덱스 구조를 활용한 최근접 검색 알고리즘을 제시한다.
