Abstract
Transmission characteristics of photonic crystal slab filters are studied numerically and experimentally. Using the finite-difference time-domain method, the dependency of the spectral response on the geometric parameters is investigated and analyzed. Photonic crystal slab filters fabricated from a silicon-on-insulator show transmission spectra consistent with the simulated results.
