Abstract
This paper aims at modeling of mean and variance values of eigenvalues for Wide-Band 2×4 MIMO channel capacity based on measured Non Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) outdoor channel at 3.7GHz in Urban Macro Environment. Our channel sounding system for measurement is the Band Exploration and Channel Sounding System (BECS) 2005 developed at the ETRI in Korea, which is a 4×8 array system and works at a carrier frequency of 3.7 GHz with 100 MHz bandwidth. Based on the measured data, we calculate transmit antenna correlation coefficient (TxACC) and receive antenna correlation coefficient (RxACC) and eigenvalues of HHH where H is channel matrix in frequency domain. Since it is found that the eigenvalues follow Gamma distribution, mean and variance values of eigenvalues are used for modeling. We compare capacities from measured outdoor channels with those from Gamma distributed eigenvalues which are modeled as functions of TxACC and RxACC. The simulation results show that the Gamma distributed eigenvalues using proposed model well describe the eigenvalues in realistic 2×4 MIMO channel and enable the evaluation of the channel capacity in terms of pdf and CDF.
