Abstract
통신 서비스의 종류가 다양화되고 이에 따른 사용자의 요구사항을 충족시키기 위한 고속 멀티미디어 데이터 통신기술이 필요함에 따라 네트워크 환경은 점점 다양화되고 있다. 따라서 새로운 네트워크 환경에 대한 연구가 현재 활발히 진행되고 있는데 기존의 백 미터 내외에서 사용되는 WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) 기술과 십 미터 내외에서 사용되는 WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) 기술에 이어 수 미터 내외 및 인체 내에서 용도에 따라 수kbps에서 수 십Mbps에 이르는 데이터를 전송하는 새로운 전송방식인 WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) 기술에 관한 연구가 주목을 받고 있다[1]. IEEE802.15 TG6에서 2006년부터 표준화에 대한 논의를 시작한 WBAN은 인체 내에 이식된 의료장치나 사람이 착용하는 옷 또는 인체에 부착된 여러 장치들, 몸을 중심으로 약 3미터 이내에 장착된 장치들을 무선으로 연결하여 상호 통신을 하는 새로운 유형의 네트워킹 기술로써 체내 혹은 인체의 주변에서 일어나는 근거리 통신, 바이오센서, 인체 내부에 이식하기 위한 극소형의 나노기술, 인체 부착형 RF 인터페이스, 구동체 등의 다양한 기술이 복합적으로 적용되고 있다.
