Abstract
We propose the WLAN/HSDPA interworking architecture that enables us to interwork between HSDPA and WLAN. The WLAN/HSDPA interworking architecture defines the handover-related modules for mobile terminal and the handover switching flows among them. The proposed interworking architecture can be easily extended to support more than two heterogeneous networks. We also provide the experimental results of the interworking architecture in terms of the handover time between HSDPA and WLAN. Experimental result shows that the interworking architecture reduces handover time between HSDPA and WLAN. © 2008 IEEE.
