Abstract
The randomized projective coordinate (RPC) method appliedto a pairing computation algorithm is a good solution thatprovides an efficient countermeasure against side channel attacks.In this study, we investigate measures for increasing the efficiencyof the RPC-based countermeasures and construct a method thatprovides an efficient RPC-based countermeasure against side channelattacks. We then apply our method to the well-known ηT pairingalgorithm over binary fields and obtain an RPC-based countermeasurefor the ηT pairing; our method is more efficient than theRPC method applied to the original ηT pairing algorithm.
