Abstract
The Communication, Oceanographic, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) program was authorized by Korean government in 2003. The COMS consists of the communication, ocean and meteorological payloads as a hybrid satellite. It includes an R&D component for developing a Ka-band communications payload as a mission of ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute). The measured performances of Ka-band communications on-board switching payload have been evaluated analytically to show not only the validity of the design approach but also how it is agreed with the requirements. Also the trace analysis has been conducted based upon the results from ground test on spacecraft level in order to get a confidence to our design and to help us identify performance problem by this trace-based analysis.
