Abstract
This paper proposes a technique for controlling sound field with multiple sound sources. It controls the amplitude and phase of the multiple sound sources to maximize the acoustic energy difference between the selected acoustic regions considering the acoustic radiation efficiency. The proposed signal control algorithm defines the listening and non-listening region, and then controls the sound sources for maximizing acoustic energy difference between these regions considering achievable acoustic radiation efficiency. In addition, this control algorithm adapts the tuning factor to adjust the amount of consideration for the two important performances, acoustic energy difference and acoustic radiation efficiency. The effectiveness of this algorithm in mobile applications is evaluated by the computer simulations in comparison with the conventional acoustic brightness and contrast control method.
