- Abstract
- The recently defined Satellite Digital Video Broadcasting Standard DVB-S2 represents a major step forward compared to the current DVB-S. Especially, DVB-S2 ACM enables the configuration in a fully dynamic way of each TDM carrier physical layer frame according to one of the possible coding rates and modulation formats. One of the important issues in ACM system is the criterion and methodology of selecting the transmitter’s modulation mode. In this paper, threshold-based switching level algorithm is considered. The switching levels meeting PER requirement of ACM can be obtained and are applied to demonstrate the PER performance and average number of packets in a frame for ACM.
