Abstract
This paper addresses the analysis of the interference produced between the LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite constellation and FS (Fixed Service) system operating in the same frequency. Simulations are performed for downlink interference scenarios. In this paper, interference of FS system by the LEO satellite constellation is calculated depending on the number of LEO satellite antenna beams. The interference analysis result is given in terms of the I/N. In the scenario, simulation results show the amount of interference that was calculated from each region. This result can be used to define the carrier level for protection of FS system from total interference by LEO satellite constellation. The presented results also can be used to calculate the maximum interference level and estimate the minimum carrier level of FS systems. © 2009 IEEE.
