Abstract
This article presents a dual-resonator antenna where a stacked microstrip patch antenna uses a protruding dielectric rod for high gain, and a sleeve-dipole antenna to support the rod as well as to resonate at another frequency. The proposed antenna structure could be optimized at any two frequencies. However, we designed the microstrip patch to resonate at 2.44 GHz while the sleeve-dipole at 0.859 GHz. Main points of designing considerations and electrical performances of a fabricated antenna were briefly discussed. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
