Abstract
The viterbi decoder of the MB-OFDM UWB should support a maximum data rate of 480 Mbps. There are several noble architectures of high-speed viterbi decoder, but it would increase the area significantly, when it is directly adapted to the large constraint length system, like MB-OFDM UWB. At this point, we proposed a high-speed and area efficient viterbi decoder for MB-OFDM UWB. The proposed architecture is the concatenation version of the two radix-4 ACSs. Implementation results show that the number of slice is reduced by 40% and the number of LUT is reduced by 25% in FPGA.
