USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)은 국방, 재난재해, 물류유통 등 다양한 산업분야에 융합되어 적용될 수 있는 핵심 인프라로 차세대 미래 유망기술로써 인식되고 있다. 각 국은 USN 기술로 인해 파급되는 여러 가지 유익들을 인지하고 산·학·연의 긴밀한 협력하에 관련 기술개발 투자 및 응용서비스 개발에 박차를 가하고 있다. 국내에서도 USN 산업발전 전략을 수립하여 핵심 기술개발 투자 및 수요확산을 위해 노력하고 있는 중이다. USN 산업의 활성화를 위해서는 수요기관들을 중심으로 이들이 필요로 하는 서비스가 무엇인지 파악하여 우선순위를 두고 투자할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수요처를 대상으로 USN 서비스 수요를 실증 분석함으로써 USN 산업의 활성화를 위한 정책마련에 기여하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 수요기관들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과를 바탕으로 USN 서비스 활성화 전략과 관련한 시사점을 제공하였다.
