Abstract
The global smartphone market continues to expand rapidly, with worldwide sales expected to maintain strong double-digit growth. An increased focus from handset vendors and mobile carriers in open OS devices, a decline in the billing of material costs, improved user interfaces and designs, and advanced multimedia and messaging functionality will drive sales. Smartphones will continue to advance and include functionalities found in other imaging, multimedia, computing and consumer electronics devices. Furthermore, open OS will give new players from other fields, such as application developers and applications distributors, to participate in mobile market. In spite of the increasing interest and demand of smartphones in global mobile phone market, there haven't been any obvious changes in Korean mobile market so far. One of the most persuasive reasons why smartphone sales in Korea did not significant record is due to the circustance of Korean mobile market is controlled by mobile carriers and they want to prevent new players from joining in their market. In this paper, the characteristics of open OS will be examined and trends of smartphone in global mobile market will also be handled. Finally, this study will attept a analysis the defferance that makes the delay of smartphone expansiong in korean market.
