Abstract
ZnS:Cu,Cl,Mn,Te which shows red powder EL emission (~650nm) was synthesized by the conventional wet synthesis and sealed vessel methods. With increasing the amount of Te, EL luminance decreases. After analyzing EL spectra, orange EL emission decreases even though red EL emission remains almost same with the increase of Te. Raman spectra show new peaks at 121 cm-1 and 141 cm-1 which are related to Te aggregation instead of 268 cm-1 which is related to CuxTe. That is to say, even though the amount of Te increases, Te is tend to aggregate instead of making CuxTeZnS p-n junction which is probably the main mechanism of red EL emission.
