Abstract
This paper proposes an Access Control scheme designed to suit mobile information terminals. It utilizes the domain division on information resource given by the user, achieving both the security enhancement and the user convenience provided by domain management interface. It accomplishes high security against various kinds of security threats such as virus, hacking, information leakage, and so on. It can also manage attacks which are unknown or even new, since it takes a behavioral-based approach. The key feature of IDAC is that it checks or prevents multi-domain accesses of a single process which are strongly likely to be security threats. These detections are confirmed by user interaction which prompt user a simple inquiry. Information accumulated by user decisions is used to configure policies to minimize following inquiries, maximizing user convenience. We implemented IDAC on Linux-based mobile platform using LSM framework. It shows its ability to protect data and overall system through malicious program execution tests without complex static policy settings.
