Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method of extracting installation and execution information from package software on a dirty personal computer (PC) in order to convert an application package installed in each host PC into the non-installable portable software format that could be executed by one-click on any host without the installation procedure. To do that, 1) we construct multiple Virtual execution environments -for referring to clean reference information and gathering installation information -at the file system and the registry hive on Window based system. Also, 2) we provide a Virtual execution handler library that hooks and redirects file and registry I/Os generated by installation and application execution process. By using the constructed Virtual execution environment and Virtual execution handler library, we present a method to extract installation and execution information from installed and executed software.
