Abstract
In Cloud-based VDI, users can access the virtual desktop service anytime and anywhere with the wide variety of terminals. The lightweight virtual desktop display protocol is required to support more users on the limited resources and to provide service to mobile users. In this paper, we design and implement the virtual desktop system using lightweight virtual desktop display protocol which would reduce the server load and network bandwidth consumption for increasing the number of virtual desktops per server and supporting the mobile users. The experimental results show that the implemented protocol reduces the network bandwidth consumption for virtual desktop transfer by up to 81% than previous protocol without compression and optimization.
