Abstract
In this paper, an eye detection method based on features of corneal specular reflection and pupil is proposed for gaze tracking system. Corneal specular reflection candidates are detected first, then the pupil candidates are detected. Corneal specular reflection is significant for gaze tracking, however it can deform pupil shape. Therefore we propose a circularity measuring method to be applied to the damaged pupil shape. After removing the part that is expected to have been occluded from pupil candidate contour, the circularity of the remaining segmented contour is measured according to the proposed method using double circles. Experiment result of the proposed eye detection method is shown for the images that have been captured from a gaze tracking system.
