Abstract
RF-Signal over IP(이하 RoIP)는 케이블 방송망에서 RF 버스트 신호 형태로 전달되는 상향 DOCSIS 데이터 전송을 IP 패킷으로 변환하여 광 IP망을 통해 전달하는 기술이다. 비동기적으로 발생하는 가입자 단말의 DOCSIS 상향 데이터를 IP 망을 통해 전달하기 위해서는 헤드엔드 측 RoIP 처리 장치에서 단말 장치들로부터 전달된 RF 버스트 신호로부터 DOCSIS(data over-cable service interface specifications) 상향 타이밍 데이터를 복원하고 원래의 상향 전송 타이밍에 맞게 헤드엔드의 CMTS(cable modem termination system)로 전달하기 위한 스케줄링이 요구된다. RoIP 헤드엔드 측 장치는 IP망을 통해 전달된 RF 버스트 신호를 스케줄링하는 과정에서 DOCSIS 경쟁 구간에 전송된 충돌이 발생한 버스트 데이터를 감지해내고 충돌한 두 버스트 중 하나를 택하여 전송 처리함으로써 DOCSIS 충돌을 회피할 수 있다. 본 논문은 RoIP 송/수신 장치에서 충돌 회피를 적용한 경우 기존 DOCSIS 시스템에 비해 전송 지연과 서비스 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하였다.
