Abstract
We present a neuromorphic neural engineering platform which is suitable for studying event-based neural and brain prosthetics. The platform consists of a real-time bidirectional neural interface system, a microelectrode array, a neuromorphic processor, and a real-time software environment emulating event-based sensory-motor systems. The platform offers opportunities to study neural prosthetic devices restoring neural functions using neuromorphic systems mimicking biological neural dynamics in low-power electronics.
