Abstract
We have developed a fast tunable laser assembly (FTLA) and 10-Gb/s burst mode receiver (BMR) for realizing photonic switched optical networks. Experimental results show that the FTLA enables to support 90 ITU channels with 50-GHz grids at C-band and switching time in wide tuning range is less than 3-μs. Furthermore, the BMR recovers 10-Gb/s burst signals within 400-ns and a receiver sensitivity of -21.5 dBm is achieved while satisfying bit-error-rate of 1e-12.
