Abstract
This paper designs an FSK physical layer with enhanced synchronization for low-power wide-area (LPWA) connectivity. First, we discuss a narrowband FSK physical layer (PHR) transmission specification based on Internet of Things (IoT) services requiring LPWA connectivity. Then, we suggest a synchronization header as an option to enhance packet detection performance at low SNR. By simulations, we confirm that the resulting FSK PHY design with enhanced synchronization is suitable for LPWA connectivity.
