Abstract
This paper is proposed to assess the rockfall susceptibility during thawing periods of South Korea by conducting the rockfall susceptibility assessment within a geographical information system (GIS) environment. In order to assess the influence of each triggering factor classes, frequency ratio analysis is applied by comparing the rockfall occurrence sites and triggering factors. According to the results of frequency ratio analysis, rockfall susceptibility map is composed and accuracy was revealed over 90% with area under the curve (AUC) method.
