Exact performance of space-time block codes from symmetric coordinate interleaved orthogonal designs is evaluated over generalized-K MIMO fading channels using probability density function. The derived exact symbol pairwise error rate and corresponding tight union bounds on the symbol error rate of STBCs from CIODs are exact closed-form expressions, and it is more accurate compared to previous approximated MGF based works. Comparisons via Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to validate the superiority over the previous theoretical results.
