Abstract
This paper proposes a smart energy system consisting of an energy storage, two inverters, a photovoltaic generator, and a STS switch. The system has special capability with two different inverters of microgrid islanding and it is built in an existing facility of community energy system. The islanding process with a islanding management system is also proposed to prepare for grid power outage. When the grid fault occurs, the community becomes islanded, disconnected from the grid, supplying power to all internal loads with a local generator and the new energy storage. All new facilities were implemented and communicated with the management system. The operation of the smart energy system with the islanding process was verified electrically using circuit modeling and simulation with PSIM tool.
