Abstract
In this paper, we propose a differential angle-scanning SPR detection approach for an enhanced signal to noise ratio, a fast angle decision calculation, and a wide dynamic range. With a proof-of-concept experimental setup, we measured the SPR characteristics for air, D.I. water, and sucrose solutions, and discussed for the numerous angle decision algorithms and methods, such as second or third-order polynomial fits and centroid algorithms for the SPR dip detection, and a simple linear fit for the differential SPR slope detection. Overall performances for signal-to-noise ratio, sensitivity, resolution and dynamic range are also discussed.
