- Abstract
- In this paper, we develop a smart pillbox for remotely monitoring medications of elderly and chronic patients, who should periodically take medicine for a long time. The smart pillbox has three core modules, service module, detection module and communication module. The first provides services for alarming and alerting about user's medications. The second employs a sensor to detect the status of medication. The third communicates with medication server by Internet. The modules are integrated with a embedded PCB. It can considerably contribute to consistent enhancement of medication compliancy.
