This paper describes the design of the Driver-Adaptive Vehicle Interaction System. Our system is composed of three modules: Profile Management Module, Driver Management Module, and Interaction Management Module. The Profile Management Module manages the profile of each driver. Driver profile contains driver's personality, characteristics, behavior, and status information. With this profile each driver can be provided the user-adaptive interaction event in the case of car-sharing. The Driver Management Module manages the personal information, propensity, characteristics, behavior patterns, and status of each driver. In particular, it manages the sensory, cognitive, and physical characteristics of older drivers, woman drivers, and novice drivers. The Interaction Management Module builds the interaction strategy and interact with the driver through the in-vehicle information devices and vehicular environment. The purpose of the system proposed in this paper is to ensure that the car continuously learns about the driver and ultimately provides customized interactions to individual drivers and controls the vehicular environment to ensure safe driving.
