Abstract
We describe herein a rapid and efficient top-down method for the production of tiny particles without microfluidic apparatuses. The target liquid material was mixed with a matching immiscible liquid, which resulted in emulsion state. The emulsion was treated with adequate physicochemical processes in order to trigger instantaneous solidifications. Using this method, we could make micron or submicron-sized particles from the highly viscous liquids of which several tens or hundreds of micron-sized particles could be made. Additionally, our tiny particles were demonstrated to deliver genetic materials into animal cells.
