Abstract
In this paper, we aim to investigate the chromatic properties of partially coherent light (e.g., LED) for full-color holographic reconstruction and 3D display system. Limited coherence characteristics of LED light source causes a loss of image quality in holographic reconstruction. Here, we focus on chromatic degradation due to the use of partial coherent light source. Particularly, the changings of separate chromatic components of 24 colors in CIELAB space are analyzed and evaluated, according to changes in the degree of temporal coherence in the partially coherent light. The simulation and experimental results of partially coherent light and chromaticity evaluation in CIELAB color space are presented.
