Abstract
To respond to constantly changing workloads and emerging technologies for data centers, Intel decided to maximize performance while minimizing power consumption by providing a hybrid CPU-FPGA system packaged in a single processor. The internal FPGA can be used to implement hardware logics that can accelerate specific algorithms for data centers, but it can also embody hardware modules that can improve the overall security of the system. This paper first examines this newly launched processor and presents some possible use cases of this system for enhanced security.
