Abstract
As Ka band antennas for flexible satellite payload, flexible multibeam antennas, regional boosted beam antennas and reconfigurable beam antennas can be used. On the structure side, the hybrid antennas with reflectors and feed arrays are appropriate for controlling various beam shapes. Depending on coverage scenarios, the antenna geometry and the excitation coefficients of feed elements are optimized through a trad-off between system efficiency and performance. This paper presents the design results of a multibeam antenna with 4.5 dB flexibility and full power capability, a regional boosted beam antenna with 6 dB boost function in every 9 region, and a reconfigurable beam antenna for three coverage scenarios.
