Abstract
In this paper, we discuss some aspects of detecting LAA/NR-U serving cell signal in the unlicensed bands, and introduce a new low overhead compact initial signal design for efficient detection of serving cell signal in the heterogeneous wireless systems environment. Since keeping track of synchronization to the serving cell is critical to identify the PCI, we consider the effect of CFO to the PCI detection probability, and some link level simulations on selected PCI detection schemes are compared. In addition, we discuss merits of introducing the compact initial signal design for DL serving cell signal detection in shared unlicensed bands.
