Abstract
LoRa network is considered as the main LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) communication technology for stable IoT information collection in the industrial field due to its excellent propagation characteristics. However, in steel shipyards and chemical plants that need to collect information inside steel cylinders, additional network components such as LoRa relays are required for reliable packet transmission. We establish a LoRa relay network for stable information collection in harsh communication environments such as confined spaces and confirms the stability of communication in relay application. In addition, this paper analyzes the main problems that can occur when using LoRa relay network. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a stable network operation through the proposed Light-Weighted duplicated packet reduction technique.
